About Lancer

The Weather Horse, Lancer; it is what it is. Lancer, is 17 years old, 15-3 hands and 1/4 Percheron and 3/4 Quarter Horse. His friends include Rev and Little John the dogs, Sterling the cat, Zito the horse amongst many other humans. He lives outside (in at night) and has become quite good at reporting the weather in Ashburnham, MA, Elevation 1200ft. He likes carrots and peppermints along with grain, grass and hay.

A Sleepy Start to Sunday

The Weather Horse reports a subdued, sleepy, start to Sunday with shavings stuck in a still mane, no wind, slightly overcast, sultry temps promising to warm and moisten, the general chorus tweeting sweet songs in the otherwise quiet beginning, look – at sunset – for the super moon tonight and enjoy a summer day of rest.

The Weather Horse Saturday, 22 June 2013, reports dogs spinning in hot pursuit of each other, the never ending battle of light against dark, Little John joining the fray and the walk with the Doc, Summer is singing along with the cardinals, rising temperatures and humidity, hazy skies with softly rustling whispering winds, swarming little flies and biting mosquitoes hanging in the shadowy places until the heat of the day drives them away, enjoy this Summer Saturday!

The Weather Horse reports that the grass is greener on the other side, munching in the front yard after leaving the barn through open doors, clover abundantly flowering along with the sweet scent from peony and recent rose blooms, busy bees buzzing, shrilling toads trilling, cheerful chickadees chirping amongst the first songs of Summer. Sun at its highest in the beautiful clear sky warming the promising day with gentle Western breezes, no rain in sight, Happy Summer to all!

Rev Likes Asparagus!

The Weather Horse, Thursday, 20 June 2013, reports that Rev likes asparagus, tomatoes appearing while cucumber plants rot in the garden, Sweet William opening with pink and white Peonies passing, color rich in perennial beds under shining sun in blue skies, no clouds in sight or rain expected, light winds drying the dew, temps coolish just now but rising under near perfect conditions!

A Good Day for a Ride!

The Weather Horse reports a good day to go for a ride, sunny clearing skies appearing with brightening light, clover growing in the gravel tastes marvelous, seems to not be buggy despite calm breezes, robins exchanging chirps with the cat bird, Rev busy chasing something, day dawning dreamily for Wednesday…

The Weather Horse, Tuesday, 18 June 2013, reports hazy sun through bright overcast skies, heavy dew in the field and over the clover rising into a low mist hanging in the still morning, cowbirds staying close until a black streak flushes them into the air, Rev on his morning romp disturbing a busy robin, unsettled day expected with possible repeating storms of yesterday, keep an eye to the sky!

Catching Up About the Weekend

The Weather Horse catching up with Rev about the weekend, cat bird serenading serendipitously while gold finches mix yellow in the perennial garden, the clear blue sky and sun starting the day with warm temps, light gentle breezes rustling the tail and trees, a sweet morning slipping smoothly into the new week!
