Another Beauty Day
Fall at its Best
Crows calling in the day, rooster quickly after hens, The Weather Horse and his shadow Rev scrounging acorns from very wet grass, mist hanging on the asparagus and in the field creating faerie tents underfoot, sunlit leaves in their fiery finery sharply contrasted under fabulous blue, the promise of a glorious fall day and the haunting of summer, blissful and gentle.
Into a New Week
This morning The Weather Horse was found trimming in the vegetable garden, narrowly missing almost ripened tomatoes, bright sunshine making distinct ear shadows, an egg a day from the young hens, Rev romping robustly in remarkable fall temperatures while fuzzy brown and black caterpillars bump along by.
Brian’s Gift Race
The Weather Horse and Rev hanging with two of the many volunteers working the Brian’s Gift Race, awaiting the first runners on a truly great day for the race (the human race, etc) under crystal blue skies, warm temps, earlier mist rising and drying in clean dry air, spectacular sun and deep shadow, lots happening downtown at the finish line, enjoy!
Happy Friday
Alert
The Weather Horse breakfasting on crabapples aware of some activity to the west with cloudy skies above, mild though cool temps, sun wanting to break through, color increasing throughout the landscape, grass growth slowing, perennials browning, annuals nearing the end, enjoyable fall days blooming ahead.
Happy B-Day FPJ III and Dream!
Sterling Strolling
The Weather Horse on a gorgeous Tuesday morning, cool start, brisk breezes, high pressure, cloudless sky, Sterling strolling underfoot, stray leaves starting to appear on the ground while orange and red change the greens above, a third small egg found in the laying boxes – one hen is busy anyway!
Stepping into a New Week
The Weather Horse stepping out, frisky, into the first, fabulous full day of fall under brilliant blue, chilly clear air moving in windy waves, cold tomatoes remaining, ripening, mums celebrating in rosy mauve, sun penetrating treetops to warm the temps eventually, the beginning of a wonderful week!
